Overview
Red Hat System Administration I (RH124) equips you with Linux® administration “survival skills” by focusing on foundational Linux concepts and core tasks. You will learn how to apply command-line concepts and enterprise-level tools, starting you on your journey toward becoming a full-time Linux system administrator. This path continues with the follow-on course, Red Hat System Administration II (RH134).
Who Should Attend
This course is geared toward Windows system administrators, network administrators, and other system administrators who are interested in supplementing current skills or backstopping other team members, in addition to Linux system administrators who are responsible for these tasks: Configuring, installing, upgrading, and maintaining Linux systems using established standards and
procedures Providing operational support Managing systems for monitoring system performance and availability Writing and deploying scripts for task automation and system administration
Prerequisites
Basic technical user skills with computer applications on some operating systems are expected

Overview
A follow-up course for students that have completed Red Hat® System Administration I (RH124), Red Hat System Administration II with RHCSA Exam (RH135) is designed for IT professionals working to become full-time enterprise Linux® system administrators.
Building on the foundation of command-line skills covered in System Administration I, students’ll dive deeper into Red Hat Enterprise Linux to broaden their toolkit of administration skills. By the end of this course, they’ll be able to administer and troubleshoot file systems and partitioning, logical volume management, access control, and package management. After attending Red Hat System Administration I and II, they’ll be fully prepared to take the Red Hat Certified System Administration (RHCSA) exam.

Overview
An RHCSA certification is earned when an IT professional demonstrates the core system administration skills required in Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® environments.
Prerequisites
The RHCSA is Red Hat’s core system administration certification and represents the common core of skills every Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administrator should have. An IT professional that has earned an RHCSA certification has demonstrated skills in areas of system administration common across a wide range of environments and deployment scenarios.
Course Objectives
- Understand and use essential tools for handling files, directories, command-line environments, and documentation.
- Operate running systems, including booting into different run levels, identifying processes, starting and stopping virtual machines, and controlling services.
- Configure local storage using partitions and logical volumes.
- Create and configure file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions, encryption, access control lists, and network file systems.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installation, update, and core services.
- Manage users and groups, including use of a centralized directory for authentication.
- Manage security, including basic firewall and SELinux configuration.
